Position Summary Responsible for the research, development, documentation and refinement of processes and system enhancements associated with Payroll Information Systems. Works independently to identify opportunities for improvements in efficiency and quality within Payroll. Leverages knowledge of industry best practices.

In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing subject matter expertise in Payroll related business processes, HRMS functionality and system configuration; owns the relationship with the Payroll business unit and is responsible for modifying and updating business processes related to payroll
  • Conducting business process mapping and functional requirements definition
  • Actively engaging end-users through all phases of the project life cycle, ensuring client satisfaction through timely communication and consistent completion of deliverables within critical timelines
  • Coordinating user acceptance testing, and working directly with end- users to manage tasks which require testing due to changes and enhancements to the system, business processes, bug fixes, and patch updates
  • Supporting common business processes and tools, researching and evaluating alternative solutions, and conducting business system concept analyses
  • Developing detailed process functional design and system configuration specifications, and obtaining approval of specifications from Business manager and HRIS manager when necessary
  • Working with developers to identify and document system configuration requirements and specifications
  • Conducting business process re-engineering to identify opportunities for improvement, and making appropriate recommendations; ensuring processes and systems are optimally aligned and that they follow industry standards
  • Working directly with the system vendor to identify, troubleshoot and determine solutions for complex issues
  • Producing standard and custom query reports for various levels of end-users; and training end-users on basic queries when applicable
  • Providing production support on HRMS system issues and ensuring maximum uptime of system
  • Create and maintain end-user training/reference documentation relating to Payroll business processes
  • Work with HRIS personnel on creating and/or modifying business processes where the scope spans multiple business areas including but not limited to: Human Resources, Benefits, Compensation, Security Administration
Qualifications: Education/Training

  • B.S/B.A. in Computer Science, MIS or related field; or an equivalent in education and experience

  • Functional knowledge of PeopleSoft HRMS Application Suite; technical knowledge a plus; Functional knowledge of WorkDay HRMS Application Suite a plus
  • Solid knowledge of and the ability to use MS Office Suite products
  • Solid ability to learn new computer applications
  • Possesses knowledge and ability to write SQL
  • Solid ability to multi-task in an effective manner and to work successfully in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to draft routine correspondence and manage information and data in a confidential and professional manner
  • Ability to balance the demands of new projects, maintenance and support, customer expectations and staff development
  • Ability to establish strong business relationships and work effectively with senior business and client contacts
  • Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical users
  • Excellent written and verbal communication coupled with solid listening, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong project and time management skills; knowledge of project management methodology
Work Experience

  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience working with PeopleSoft applications
  • In-depth functional experience with PeopleSoft HRMS Application Suite; technical experience a plus; Experience with WorkDay HRMS Application Suite a plus
