Analyzes & processes invoices, payroll, accounts receivable, vouchers, payment cards, travel expense reports & other related materials using computer & related computer programs (e.g., CICSPRD mainframe program); prepares vouchers, invoices & remittances for receipt & disbursement of funds in accordance with the ODOT Appropriation Accounting Manual using computer & related computer programs (e.g., CICSPRD mainframe program); ensures invoices are billed, charged & purchased correctly; verifies mathematical accuracy & purchase prices using a calculator &/or adding machine; verifies appropriation sources in accordance with policies & procedures; matches invoices to verified logs; contacts vendors & reconciles discrepancies; processes payroll using computer & related software (e.g., Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS)); verifies employees’ bi-weekly payroll & employee leaves; calculates adjustments regarding reclassification, promotion, demotion, longevity, step increases, tax withholding, healthcare, retirements & hourly wage using calculator &/or adding machine; calculates adjustments & disability. Posts, updates & reconciles internal accounts (e.g., leave balances, damage claims, payment card logs & receipts); ensures all transactions are processed in a timely manner utilizing computer & related software/programs (e.g., CICSPRD, OAKS); answers questions from cardholders & provides training regarding processing transactions; verifies actual inventory against auditing report & performs physical inventory using calculator; identifies any discrepancies in inventory; enters & retrieves inventory data from the computer & generates reports using computer & related software (e.g., Graphical Query Language (GQL), Microsoft Excel, ROSCOE). Prepares correspondence & memos relative to District accounts using computer & related software (e.g., Microsoft Word); maintains filing system (e.g., sorts, enters & retrieves documents); responds to telephone inquiries; attends training & meetings. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
2 courses or 6 mos. exp. in high school accounting or accounting for bookkeepers offered by college; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in operation of adding machine & calculator; 6 mos. additional exp. in bookkeeping.
