Description:

Core Responsibilities:
Lead the team responsible for architecting, developing and launching multi-touch technologies for Apple products.
Collaborate with cross-functional team and customers to establish and fine-tune technology roadmaps, and prioritize investigations according to value and resource.
Track 3rd party competitive products and technologies, including analysis.
Allocate architecture and engineering resources according to roadmap priority.
Author and oversee authorship of high quality, thorough engineering requirements specifications for sub-systems, and full solutions including modules and chipsets.
Establish quantitative metrics for technology performance that map to customer perception of performance, predict performance based on up-front design, and be responsible for architecting and engineering solutions with margin even in worst-case conditions
Check and ensure high quality schematic design, component selection, circuit design and tolerance analysis.
Manage prototype bring-up, debug and characterization to ensure thorough validation.
Manage and ensure high quality defect root cause analysis and resolution, including diligent bug database tracking.
Collaborate with cross-functional team members, customers and executives to decide appropriate technologies for each Apple product.
Prepare and deliver executive presentations. Author clear, concise, informative executive hot-spot reports for critical path issues.
Manage engineering development builds and validation to successful quality and schedule.
Lead interactions with over-seas suppliers and development partners, setting expectations and auditing the quality of work product.
Release designs to production status when they are thoroughly validated.
Recruit and train talented engineers, building a world class team.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience in design, development and launch of high volume consumer products. In addition, ideal candidate must also have at least 3+ years of management experience and demonstrated engineering initiative and management/leadership skills.
Direct experience with touch or sensor technologies and / or flat panel display technologies is beneficial.
Strong electrical engineering background including analog and digital design and analysis proficiency
Scientific method, experimental process, root cause analysis,
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and people skills are required
Teamwork: the candidate must be able to communicate well with cross-functional team members and customers, be able to efficiently collaborate with team members to achieve project goals, and contribute positively to the engineering community environment.

Education: BSEE / MSEE is required
