Want to use your art skills to help change the world? We're serious about it. VirtGood is looking for artist interns to create art assets that drive the visual identity and user interface of VirtGood's product at the intersection of gaming and philanthropy. S/he will produce artwork as needed by VirtGood's product team and our gaming partners. This internship will also involve work with web and marketing teams to create game-related artwork.

The graphic design intern should want to strengthen his/ her skills in User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) designing. The artist will contribute design work ranging from concept sketches and mock-ups to finished production-ready art for use in a game. Responsibilities will include drafting detailed marketing graphics or splash screens to working on simple graphics for icons, buttons, banners or overlays.

S/he will have the autonomy to generate some pretty awesome graphic ideas within online gaming. S/he will also benefit from the opportunity to interact with parties ranging from game production teams to VCs to non-profits to our own non-profit and our social media expert from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

About you:
• Passion for video games (online, mobile, console), virtual worlds and social networks -- especially in the social/casual sphere.

• Excellent design skills, including the effective use of color, form, lighting and composition

• Excellent Photoshop skills, (CS3-4) compositing, texture painting, tiling, retouch, filtering, scripting

• Ability to work with a broad range of subjects and styles, from detailed and rendered paintings in console game or films concept art to simple and cartoony and more appropriate for a light-hearted casual game. . .and anywhere in-between

• Quick sketching and storyboarding experience

• Strong communications skills; verbal, written, and visual

• Foreign language skills a plus (but not necessary) -- Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Turkish, French, German or Spanish
