Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority (“MOHELA") is currently searching for professional, confident and courteous individuals to join our Call Center Team to counsel student loan borrowers and parents to successfully
manage and repay their student loan debt. This is through inbound and outbound collection calls.

The Call Center Agents will be making outgoing calls to delinquent borrowers in order to receive payments and counsel them on their federal student loan debt. Agents are also responsible for researching and analyzing student
loan accounts in response to verbal inquiries. They recommend appropriate courses of action in order to keep student loan accounts current with MOHELA.

There are multiple schedules within the call center operating hours of Monday through Thursday 8am-9pm, Friday 8am-5pm and Saturdays 8am – Noon.

Candidates must be able to work any schedule including 8am-5pm, 9am-6pm, 10am-7pm, 11am-8pm, Noon – 9pm (Monday – Thursday) , Fridays 8am-5pm, along with alternating Saturdays 8am-Noon.

Comprehensive training (compensated at $15.00 an hour) will be approximately 7 to 8 weeks long from 8am-5pm Monday through Fridays. Hired candidates must be able to attend training every day from March 11th to May 3rd.

Required for all candidates:
Must have high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Preference will be provided to those candidates who possess a Bachelor's Degree in any field of study.

Consideration will be granted to those without a Bachelor's degree who possess:

2 years or more of call center experience (preferably high call volume) and/or Collection experience on delinquent accounts (auto-dialer experience
a plus)

Ability to understand and apply complex regulations that continue to change over time

Must be a quick learner with excellent research skills

Must be able resolve difficult customers

Must be able to thrive in a highly structured work environment responding to high call volumes.

Ability to adapt to a desk job where constant phone work is completed

A stable work history and strong work ethic with an excellent attendance and dependability record

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Capability to exceed challenging expectations

A friendly speaking voice and patient demeanor

Solid data entry skills (20 words per minute)

Independently skilled in Microsoft Windows and Outlook

Desired, but not required: Bilingual skills

Must be able to obtain an appropriate public trust security clearance as required of federal government contractors to include a background check conducted by the U.S. Government to determine eligibility and suitability for
federal contract employment for public trust or sensitive positions
