Butler University is seeking an energetic, experienced, successful fundraising professional to fill the position of Associate Athletic Director for Development. Butler University is an NCAA Division I institution, a member of the Atlantic 10, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and the Pioneer Football League and comprised of 19 athletic teams. This position reports directly to the Vice President and Director of Athletics. This individual will lead the efforts of the athletics development office and work closely with the vice president and director of athletics on the strategy and solicitation of annual and major gifts to support the needs of the Butler University Athletic Department. The successful candidate will work closely with campaign volunteers, coaches and colleagues throughout the university while executing successful strategies for cultivating private philanthropy. Responsibilities include: development and management of an annual business plan to lead Butler†s athletic development (the Bulldog Club) and meet the financial and activity goals. The identification, assessment and development of potential major gift donors, the preparation of solicitation materials and the execution of solicitations and finally, the stewardship of donors once they have made a commitment. Throughout this cycle, the development officer is responsible for the management of prospects and active major gift donors. Management of these donors includes: developing fund-raising and recognition plans, working with the other prospect managers to track prospective donors for athletic projects/programs, involving volunteer leadership if necessary, and ensuring that gift funded projects/programs are managed in a way that is consistent with the intent of a donor. This position is also responsible to make sure all duties are executed in compliance with NCAA, Atlantic 10, Pioneer Football League, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and institutional rules and regulations.Travel is required, as well as attendance at events on evenings and weekends. Other duties may be assigned as a member of the senior athletics staff.
