The Global Education Office seeks a Student Program Advisor to provide advisement services to students wishing to study abroad. Duties will include the following: Advise students about study abroad options, application procedures, UNM policies and procedures, academic, cultural adjustment issues and other issues related to international education. Assist in developing and overseeing exchange and study abroad programs in Latin America and Spain. Advise students on budget preparation, financial aid opportunities, and application procedures. Assist in developing on-line marketing for international education programs using website and social media. Assist in conducting group information sessions, pre-departure orientations, and special events including study abroad fairs, international festival, etc. Manage on-line application system for study abroad programs, maintain program files, and produce reports, Manage international travel database for international exchange, faculty-led and other study abroad programs. Bachelor's degree; at least 6 months of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. OR Associate's degree; at least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Experience working with college level study abroad programs Skills in marketing programs using websites, printed materials and social media Experience with computer database programs Knowledge of UNM policies and procedures Experience living, working or traveling outside the U.S. Experience traveling in Spain or Latin America Proficiency in English and at least one additional language
