MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
·

The primary purpose of the position is to perform a variety of maintenance planning, scheduling, and material tasks in direct support of depot maintenance programs such as the repair, overhaul, manufacture, and modification of complex weapon systems.

·

Researches, analyzes, plans, and initiates job acceptance for programmed/unprogrammed workloads.

·

Manages shop capacity, calculates and establishes shop hours based on workload mixture in systems to control input to schedule.

·

Monitors multiple shop operations, plans and manages actual production start dates, project repairs and modification in work and in-queue in support of the Complex.

·

Provides material management support to production operations by insuring parts and material are available.

·

Works with multiple organizations both internal and external to the complex to schedule work into a back-shop environment.

·

Monitors Maintenance activities using computerized tracking systems and ensures that records are kept and forwarded as necessary.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-09) or equivalent. Specialized experience must include

working with internal and external customers providing maintenance planning and scheduling for back-shop environments in support of depot maintenance programs to provide timely support of the processing of assets through the repair facility.

Federal Time-In-Grade

(TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-09 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1.

Knowledge of production organizations and production methods and procedures, labor, machinery, manpower, and material requirements.

2.

Knowledge of industrial and related work process, facilities, methods, equipment, and manning requirements to perform production control functions to evaluate and recommend solutions to problem areas.

3.

Knowledge of supply operations and technical program requirements to apply established supply policies and procedures to ensure parts/material support for production projects that are urgent, critical, or require special scheduling.

4.

Skill in planning unprogrammed workloads, scheduling and balancing both planned and unplanned workloads, maintaining production schedules, and preventing or alleviating production delays.

5.

Ability to investigate, analyze, plan and implement corrective action as well as establish effective cost controls for difficult and complex production problems.

6.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

:

Physical Demands:
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and climb in industrial facilities where it is necessary to bend, crouch, stoop, reach, and lift moderately heavy items.

Work Environment:
The employee works in an office setting part of the time, but is also required to visit production areas which involve moderate risks, discomfort, and require safety precautions. Visits to industrial areas take place in all weather conditions. Employee may be exposed to strong odors, fumes from paint, fuels, or chemicals used in the work processes. Regular use of safety equipment is an occupational requirement.

Other Significant Facts:
All personnel share in the responsibility for a sound safety program and are required to comply with all safety directives. Unsafe conditions are to be promptly reported to the immediate supervisor.

Overtime may be required to accomplish assigned duties.

May be required to work alternating shifts.

Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station in accordance with joint travel regulations.
