The Senior Director of Business Development and Marketing has responsibility for obtaining new business and securing re-compete business so that the company meets its revenue growth targets. Also is responsible for establishing a positive image of the company to the public, customers and employees and to build the value of the brand.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Day to day functions):
People
  • Provide guidance and help to Division Directors and PMs as we position to re-compete existing contracts, Provide leadership and demonstrate model leadership characteristics to be an effective mentoring role model for others in the organization
  • Complete effective performance evaluations on-time and ensure that direct reports do the same, through their ranks
  • Ensure that BD staff complete timesheets on time and accurately
  • Improve employee morale and retention rate through full execution of company retention strategies and programs
  • Develop and maintain a mature disciplined and repeatable business development marketing and proposal development process
  • Develop a team environment within and across the company
  • Treat all people with respect
Results
  • Manage the overall business development life cycle in order to identify quality targets of opportunity, qualify them and for key bids develop capture plans and lead the proposal efforts to capture the business
  • Achieve the Gross Bookings target established for each
  • Operate to B&P Budgets and to the assigned Overhead/G&A Budget for BD and Marketing
  • Achieve a positive image for the company with external and internal customers through active external and internal websites and other strategies for increasing positive visibility
  • Effectively identify and resolve problems, seeking help when appropriate
  • Take full responsibility for own actions to achieve results and demonstrate determination and dedication in achieving objectives and assignments
Customers
  • Achieve high levels of customer knowledge and good will through marketing and business development efforts – customers being both government as well as potential teaming partners Establish effective relationships with key existing and potential customers at the decision-making level
  • Achieve high quality in delivery, continuously striving to improve processes and services
