Qualifications: 5- 7 years producing experience in national or major media markets required. This position requires a background in show production and script review. Furthermore, this position demands extensive line producing experience and the ability to work well under pressure. The person hired must be an outstanding writer and editor. A strong interest in politics and Washington news is essential. Position requires outstanding news judgment, critical and strategic thinking, organization skills, and an ability to be persistent yet diplomatic.

Duties: This prodcuer will performs the following duties for a new Washington-based political program:

1. Researching and writing questions for the show anchor. Requires original reporting with primary sources. Requires extensive electronic research. Responsible for selecting key quotes, soundbites, and other information to be used as production elements during the interviews. Writes segment memos for each segment, including questions, background information and selected elements.

2. Provides instant research for the show anchor during program. While on the air, this producer sits in the control room in order to be in constant contact with the anchor and able to research and provide fresh information, question suggestions, or fulfill other requests by the anchor needs to make the program stronger.

3. Discussing segment elements and suggested questions with Anchor and with Executive Producer, and other show producers.

4. Gathering elements for segment and preparing material for air, including selecting, creating and ordering soundbites and graphics.

5. Field producing.
