The objectives of an IT Systems Certification Engineer are to:
Provide a consistent, managed approach to the addition of new software and/or hardware to the IT environment.
Prevent conflicts and failures in the IT environment caused by the introduction of software and/or hardware that does not meet set standards for certification.
Ensure minimal downtime for all IT systems when introducing new elements to the production environment.
The IT Systems Certification Engineer is primarily responsible for alpha & beta testing of all new software and hardware introduce into the corporate Information Systems environment.
Provide thorough testing of software needed by various departments.
Perform new hardware software testing to insure integrity of current IT systems and processes currently in production.
Build out simulated environments in labs and deploy all systems interacting with new software /hardware needed.
Implement, test, document, and deploy tested software/hardware both in physical and virtual lab based environments via HP G5/6 server and VMware Lab Manager & ESX.
Experience and a solid understanding of Windows system administration.
Experience with Linux / Unix based systems -
Experience with software packaging
Experience with VMware ESX virtual server -
Technical Writing Skills
Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio) is essential.
