The Product Development Engineer - Ergonomic Switches is sresponsible for working with the product design office and other cross functional areas to design and develop ergonomic switches and displays for all vehicles. The candidate will design and develop switch / display packaging and attachment schemes for different vehicle lines, will interface with systems group to review design, function and specifications, will validate and troubleshoot vehicle switch issues, work with suppliers to design and develop switches that meet vehicle specific design requirements and lighting harmonization. The candidate will also work with internal teams and suppliers for switch design and development and will track switch / display cost and warranty requirements.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university

Able to manage multiple switch development programs

Able to manage multiple vehicle switch packaging projects

Must be a self-starter

Must have excellent communication (both verbal and written) and organizational skills

Willingness to work aggressively on project deliverables under tight timing deadlines

Ability to work autonomously, identify problems and propose solutions

One year of experience in automotive electrical component development

Proven ability to lead teams

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with component packaging, testing and validation

Must be willing to travel for short periods

Must have excellent team working skills

Background in DFSS, Shainin and DOORS a plus

Proficient with the following Chrysler databases: Web CN, ADRESS, EBOM, PDP, CoDep, Fast Car, iSpeed, Team Center, MS Office
