Responsibilities: creating original artistic concepts and graphic elements; conceptualizing, researching, creating, and presenting graphic design work for publicity and marketing materials, including printed publications, electronic publications, Web sites, and other electronic media (video, DVD, html, email), advertising, direct mail and collateral materials integrating design across media when necessary; consulting with clients to identify graphic design needs, audiences, and objectives and to evaluate current publications for effectiveness and recommend alternatives when appropriate; art directing photo shoots; monitoring and adhering to production schedules; ensuring print quality of delivered jobs.
Minimum qualifications: bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related design media field; three years of experience working with clients to produce graphic design solutions for publications and other communications; thorough knowledge of graphic design principles, printing processes, and paper and ink characteristics; expertise in InDesign and strong working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator; excellent communication skills.
Preferred qualifications: bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design; additional years of professional experience in the field of graphic design, including routine contact with clients, formal presentation of work, press proofing, and art directing photography; experience managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and working as part of a team in an agency or higher education setting; electronic graphic design experience using content management systems; experience developing Flash-based animations.
