Education: BS in Exercise Physiology, Health Fitness Required
Experience/Qualifications: AFAA, ACE or other nationally recognized Personal Training certification desirable but not essential. Satisfactory references from present and/or previous employers
Special Skills: Advance knowledge in exercise prescription – special populations, functional training and sport specific.
American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the GHS Staff Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the GHS Staff Development Office are approved by Staff development on a case by case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two years.
Physical Requirements: Medium-Heavy : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 35 to 50 pounds of force occasionally , and/or 15 to 25 pounds of force frequently , and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Works inside and throughout exercise floor where there are few physical discomforts of perspiration, dust, dirt and excessive noise. May be exposed to infectious disease or body fluid, but potential for personal harm or injury is limited when proper safety and health precautions are followed. Must be able to effectively demonstrate all fitness equipment and exercises on both land and water. Highly stressful workload due to multiple demands simultaneously.
Position Summary: The Exercise Physiologist is responsible for providing the members of HealthPoint with exceptional health services in the areas of fitness assessment exercise programming and guidance. Developing, implementing and promoting fitness and wellness events, seminars and programs.
