JOB DUTIES
A. Prepares hot and cold food items for customers as ordered on a short order cafeteria grill. Cold sandwiches and other production items are also made for other areas of the department. Special attention is given to presenting food items in an attractive manner.
B. Interacts with customers to provide in a positive manner to promote customer satisfaction.
C. Spends time cleaning in the grill area of the cafeteria using approved agents and methods.
D. Obtains needed supplies from storage and production areas and keeps service areas of the cafeteria well stocked and looking neat and clean.
E. Operates electronic cash register handling cash, checks, and charge sales. Must be accurate in ringing up meals and making change.
F. Other duties as assigned.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
A. Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English and understand food service terms used in portion charts, menus, etc.
B. Minimum One-year experience in a cafeteria grill service operation short-order cook experience needed.
C. Large muscle group coordination and strength necessary to perform tasks required in this job, as well as manual dexterity.
D. Need to be able to be pleasant and courteous to customers at all times.
E. Must be free of diseases transmissible through food or through food related contact.

High school graduate or equivalent (GED) required.
Must have a current Multnomah County Food Handler's Card.
Culinary training preferred.
