Use your knowledge of business development, strategic and business planning, service line management marketing, and project management and Certificates of Needs in this fast-paced Planner position. You will be responsible for coordinating the management and development of the System and Delivery Network business plans, the strategic planning process, and the business development process as well as developing integrated market analysis of national, state and local trends and proactively identifying and proposing strategy refinements as a result of market conditions. Planner also provides project management and staff support for the System's business planning efforts, including development and implementation of initiatives such as service line management and provides assistance in the coordination of the bed capacity, Certificate of Need, technology assessment processes. Responsibilities include: Business Planning Coordinates the System and Delivery Network (including departmental and clinical services') strategic business planning processes. Coordinates System and Delivery Network business plan processes in a manner which effectively integrates quarterly input provided by administrative officers and vice presidents and summarizes the progress toward strategic goals and documents these in quarterly reports for Senior Management and the System's Development and Operations Groups. Develops appropriate strategies for resolving outstanding issues. Recommends appropriate System and Delivery Network strategies based upon a periodic assessment of the impact of the identified trends on the System, Hospital, Delivery Network and competitors. Provides continual assessment of the impact of environmental trends on the System's strategic direction. Conducts ongoing and annual analysis of internal, external, local, regional, state and national factors regarding economic, health care, demographic reimbursement, competitive and product lines and assesses their impact on current business plan and service line strategies. Service Line Management Provides comprehensive project management and staff support to senior administrative and clinical leadership during the development phase of specific clinical service lines, and provides ongoing service line assistance as needed. Data Management and Analysis Coordinates analyses using the Solucient Market Planner and its integration with local, state, and national databases. Coordinates comprehensive and accurate data analysis and interpretation to support senior level decisions regarding strategic initiatives. Business Development Coordinates research and review for System and Delivery Network business development initiatives. Provides comprehensive support during the development and planning of business development initiatives and does so within established timelines (e.g., assists in CON process noted below, provides volume projections, identifies and obtains needed inputs, reviews projections and information for quality and consistency, coordinates needed revisions, strategizes to resolve identified issues, and continually updates and recommends improvements to the initiatives). Certificates of Need Both develops Certificate of Need applications and coordinates the development of Certificate of Need applications for review by the Office of Health Care Access. Capacity Planning Coordinates the YNHH process for forecasting future capacity needs by service to support the Master Facilities Plan. Works with clinical and administrative leaders to project market trends, plan for changes in LOS, new physician recruitment and new services or service enhancements and to determine their impact on capacity. Senior Management Presentations Develops presentations for senior level administrators to include the preparation of written material and the development of oral presentations for senior level administrators, the Board of Trustees, Board committees, Hospital medical staff, and external audiences. Technology Assessment Identifies major trends in clinical and information technology, forecasts potential impact on the business and leads planning efforts to plan for future critical technologies. Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field. 3+ years of progressive experience in the planning, business development, or administrative/operational areas of an academic medical center. Working knowledge of business development, strategic and business planning, service line management marketing, and project management. Excellent written and oral communication research and analytical skills. Knowledge of marketing and service line management. Working knowledge of Certificate of Need and regulatory review processes. Proficient with computer information systems, Solucient, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Microsoft Project preferred. Distinguished experience and outcomes in strategic and business planning required. Incumbent is held accountable for effective coordination of design analysis and implementation of research studies to include use of Solucient Market Planner, to answer critical strategic planning, and System development questions and to interpret the impact of internal and external developments on the System's, Hospital's and Delivery Network's strategic position. Also is accountable for coordinating the monitoring of results of the System's, Hospital's and Delivery Network's business plan through the quarterly reporting process. Is accountable for ongoing service line project management and successful CON application processes.
