This jobshare 20 hours per week position works from the Pennino Building in Fairfax, Virginia and is part of the Quality Assurance team. Performs a range of professional-level activities to design, deliver and/or procure training and staff development activities for all program areas in the Adult and Aging Division to include technology-based learning activities, such as webinars, videoconferencing, etc. Develops appropriate measurement tools to gather data on the effectiveness of learning activities. Manages administrative functions associated with staff development, such as contracts and logistics for learning opportunities; and prepares learning activity descriptions for announcements and inclusion in the learning center and announcements. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications. Assesses the learning needs of various program areas and makes recommendations. Facilitates the development of online job aids to assist staff in learning. Researches new training programs and makes recommendations. Participates as a member of the agency-wide DFS Staff Development team and supports the Adult and Aging Training Committee.
Education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in the field related to the assigned functional areas.
PLUS Two years of professional work experience within training, staff development, human services, human resources, statistics, mathematics or related field.
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a check of the Child Protective Services Registry, and a driver's record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
Broad-based knowledge of human services' processes, policies, and programs. Knowledge of various adult learning styles and group dynamics. Professional experience in curriculum development, delivery of training courses and needs assessments. Ability to assess training and development at the agency level. Experience with GoTo meetings, videoconferencing and other on-line training systems. Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of management. Proven leadership skills. Clear and concise verbal and written skills.
A detailed-oriented, quick learner who is organized, open to rapidly changing project scopes and able to effectively manage multiple tasks is essential for this position.
