Job Summary:
This application is for a person in a High School Transition Program. The program is a one-year internship for students in their final year of high school. It is directed at special needs students whose objective is employment. The program takes place at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center. The Interns engagement in the workplace and job is aided by teachers and coaches.

A typical work/school day includes:
  • Two hours of classroom instruction
  • Working in two or more internship rotations through the school year
  • Lunch and breaks with co-workers
  • Feedback and advise from the teacher, job coach and co-workers
Job training and assignments continues throughout the school year and based on strengths, talents and the Interns interests. Interns are given assistance by way of on-the-job coaching and work site accommodations with the eventual objective of self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

Education:
Must be at least 18 years of age

Must be registered or accepted into the Project Search Program through their high school.

Experience:
None required.

License/Certification:
None required.
