Honda Engineering North America
Performs process equipment specification development. Coordinates projects activities in/out of Honda Engineering North America (EGA). Process development activities to include planning/implementation and feedback for improvements, including development/enhancement of production technology. Conducts engineering investigations involving process analysis, new model car body drawing study/feedback and robotic simulation.
Utilizes Excel or other specific welding applications to analyze quality data. Develops new process plans (start to finish including robot/path reach for weld distribution). Modifies existing process plans. Utilizes CAD. Creates process and equipment specifications for internal teams and the end user.
Zero to three years experience in automated robotic manufacturing performing engineering, troubleshooting, and/or equipment troubleshooting. CAD and Microsoft Office experience.
Familiar with welding processes (resistance spot, MIG) and industrial six-axis robots.
Strong communication skills.
Strong investigation and analytical skills.
Ability to make and follow plans/schedules.
Self-motivated and ability to work with limited supervision.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Basic CAD skills.
CATIA V5 experience.
Delmia V5 operation knowledge.
Robot programming or basic experience.
Experience in high volume robotic welding or processing.
Experience in high volume welding jigs and fixtures.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Welding/Industrial or Engineering Technology or related field.
Must be able to travel to all North American Plants and Japan for business needs (15%). Must be willing to work hands-on (conducting actual situation analysis and investigations). Willingness to work shifted work weeks, some weekends and overtime when necessary.
