We are looking for a full time Marine Business Development Manager for our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. This professional will work on acquisitions and strategic partner coordination and provide leadership and project management across cross functional teams to ensure timely and effective completion of executive level projects.

Essential functions for this role include:
Develop business relationships with new and existing partners in accordance with strategic company goals

Coordinate the agenda for business development meetings, compile meeting notes and actions, and follow up with assigned resources to ensure the completion of those actions

Develop RFP/RFQ’s for new business opportunities, directing bid solicitation and award process, developing and managing contracts, and following up on purchase orders while working cross functional teams

N

egotiate business terms, intellectual property discussion with external partners, coordinate legal agreements associated with projects, review and provide inputs to the contractual agreement process

Provide guidance and/or participate in writing comprehensive business cases and proposals for engaging in new opportunities

Conduct and build market intelligent database, market research, market analysis, and other business function when it is seen necessary to support the Marine business segment

Gain understanding and apply detailed knowledge of Garmin processes and procedures

As applicable, involve in various marine industry organizations to be voice and represent Garmin business interest

Other responsibilities include managing the fulfillment of obligations relating to strategic agreement.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or a field of study relevant for successful performance of the essential functions of this job description, a minimum of 7 years documented success in managing business level projects, and a minimum of 7 years experience in a technology, consumer products, legal, or consumer retail environment working in a strategic capacity. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to success and driven to achieve goals with ability to demonstrate past success, excellent time management skills and ability to generate and support pragmatic solutions that meet Garmin’s market launch requirements, and proven experience in project management, market research and the development and execution of winning business plans.

Other requirements for this role include:
Excellent problem solver with strong analytical skills, impeccable business judgment and decision making abilities

Demonstrated experience working effectively with cross-functional teams including Legal, Finance, Engineering, Sales and Marketing

Must demonstrate proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office and previous experience proficiently using Microsoft Project

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills combined with excellent listening skills and the ability to communicate with and relate to a highly engaged and technical management team

Strong aptitude for consumer electronics devices

Solid financial acumen and effective business negotiation skills

Exceptional time management and organizational skills with an ability to multi-task and prioritize

Strong passion for Garmin, including its mission, products, and values

High level of initiative, energy and drive with a results-oriented track record and commitment to success

Proven ability to operate with discretion and protect highly confidential information

Flexible and adaptable with an ability to envision strategic opportunities in a highly dynamic environment

Candidates with a Masters Degree, preferably MBA, marine business experience and/or international business experience, and a PMP certification are highly desired.
