I need a software tool that will continuously snap pictures from a series of USB cameras. It needs to be running as a daemon. There will be a config file, listing the devices, the location where the files will be stored, the snapshot interval, and the maximum storage space to be used.

There can be anywhere between 1 and 8 cameras, you can use a series of video files, or a series of snapshots. File names will be in a constant series if using snapshots. If using video, then each camera will have it's own recording stream, recording over the previous portions of the file in a continuous loop.

Additionally, there may be a GPS device that would be used for part of the file name. The preferred format for the filenames would be GPS_location_date_time_camera

Still or video can be used, provided that there is a way to log the gps location if it is there. The processor this is running on an an ARM. A parity device would be the raspberry pi in terms of speed.
