The IT Configuration role is primarily responsible for configuration projects within the CRM and billing systems. The configuration projects will include both fast path and major change requests submitted by the business. All project work will require the completion of necessary stage documentation and final project hand off to the systems support teams.
Performs job duties consistent within safety, legal, and regulatory requirements; company standards, culture and business practices. Acts with the highest level of business and personal ethical standards in all aspects of job performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Analyze and understand the user requirement specifications or other requirements.
• Conduct system requirements workshop sessions between CRM and Billing teams to build necessary stage documentation.
• Where necessary, work with business to modify requirements to meet the core system functionality.
• Identify impacts on other systems from business requirements and involve other team as necessary.
• Build configuration scripts for use in deployment. Perform system test function on configuration.
• Support user acceptance testing of configuration projects with testing team and end user communities.
• Create/Modify configuration scripts to correct any issues found in testing.
• Properly maintain log of activity/work in Quality Center development tracking system.
Additional Duties:
Contributes to departmental activities and programs by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• 2 to 5 years experience in Siebel or Kenan configuration.
• 2 to 5 years experience with identifying and documenting systems requirements.
• Strong skills in SQL or other query language.
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
• Strong verbal and written skills a must.
• Experience with UNIX scripting a plus.
• Knowledge of the telecom industry and business processes a plus.
• Travel (10% within New England between business locations and IT).
Required Education & Experience:
In order to accomplish the essential duties of this position, the incumbent must have 2 to 5 years experience working with BSS systems. The person must also be well versed in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as well as have an understanding as to how system change is propagated through test environments and into software applications.
2 year degree with 4+ years work experience or 4 year degree with 2+ years experience required.
Education or 2+ experience in data architecture, data analysis, or data query applications.

This position is a regular full time position on a schedule established by the supervisor. Travel may be required, which may require overnight and weekend stays. Being on call, altering the work schedule, and working overtime are required in order to meet the demands and deadlines associated with the position. The work environment involves the use of typical office equipment such as telephone, computer, facsimile, etc, in a controlled climate.
