As a Business Intelligence Program Manager in our Actuarial and Business Intelligence team, you will work with business leaders, senior management, and IT partners to define, manage, and develop cost effective solutions for highly complex business data strategies. You will collaborate with IT and project managers to ensure program deliverables are completed on time, on budget, and achieve agreed-upon objectives



Conceptualize immediate and long-range needs with respect to business data strategy, reporting, and analytics.


Manage and direct assigned staff to ensure the completion of high quality work in a timely and efficient manner; provide coaching and development


Ensure strategies are translated into specific objectives, metrics, and action plans.

Translate business needs into comprehensive project plans which ensure successful project completion.


Identify and evaluate strategic project priorities and investment requirements utilizing appropriate financial analysis and acumen.


Negotiate program objectives and direction with executive and senior management from IT, Actuarial, Product Management, and Safeco Insurance.


Prepare and present program statuses to senior level management, keeping them informed of program direction and re-negotiates direction as necessary.


Run department meetings to ensure solid collaboration and communication between cross-functional departments


Graduate degree in related field or equivalent training required.


Minimum of 10 years progressively more responsible experience in a financial and/or project management environment with exposure to highly complex project planning, cost benefit analysis and cross discipline coordination.


Minimum of 5 years of management experience required.


Minimum 2 years of experience working within an enterprise data governance framework preferred.


Experience in, the oversight of, an integrated bundle of complex projects in a Program Management/Project Management Office (PMO) environment.


Demonstrated understanding of relational databases, including the ability to effectively utilize techniques to derive insights.


Demonstrated understanding of SAS, Cognos and MicroStrategy from a business capability perspective. Knowledge of database language and applications such as Teradata and SQL Server is preferred.


Experience coordinating closely with Information Technology professionals at the program and project levels to assure effective and efficient use of resources.


Demonstrated understanding of financial/economic levers that impact business performance Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of audiences at all organizational levels.
