Establish/Manage/Optimize supply chain in terms of cost, delivery, quality, and lead time for suppliers relating to assigned vertical product categories; Create, execute, and lead sourcing strategies including development of new sources, supplier evaluations of potential and existing suppliers, contract negotiations, vendor selection, performance tracking and score carding. Sourcing Manager will build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the company.
Create, execute, and lead strategic sourcing strategies and develop supporting sourcing tactics for assigned supply base; Strategy to include plans for managing supplier reduction process and developing more efficient supply chain.
Analyze business requirements and identify reliable suppliers to deliver high quality yet cost competitive products; this requires an understanding of specifications, scope of work, timing, volumes, market intelligence, supplier capability, and best sourcing practices.
Responsible for RFQ creation, supplier selection, and leading supplier contract negotiations; Establishes contract terms and conditions and coordinates with legal to execute optimal contracts with key suppliers.
Monitors and reports on supplier performance regarding key performance metrics via supplier scorecard.
Assures continuity of supply via monitoring supplier capacity, quality, and delivery performance and developing/implementing action plans when supplier(s) have capacity, quality, or delivery issues; development of multiple sourcing to be where appropriate and cost effective to mitigate supply change risks.
Monitors relevant global market prices and other economic factors and assesses and communicates their impact to Lawson Products, Inc.
May have supervisory responsibilities for other sourcing personnel.
Required Travel: Up to 25% domestic and international travel.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, or related discipline.
Five years of increasing experience in sourcing or procurement with both domestic and international suppliers.
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Experience with M.R.O. distribution sourcing preferred.
CPM or CPIM certification a plus
Knowledge of financial accounting, strategic sourcing, and supplier management concepts.
Strong negotiations and communication skills.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
