This employee will supervise all aspects of the facility and grounds maintenance at Beech Fork State Park. Employee is responsible for supervising and performing maintenance of all park facilities and grounds; appliances and equipment within or around these facilities; water lines; electrical systems; telephone; roofs; pool filtration and treatment system; wastewater plant and lift stations; landscaped areas; shrubs and trees; lawns; signs; and any other related facilities & groundskeeping necessary. This is a working supervisor position. You will make work assignments and reviews the work of subordinates. Trains employees. Ensures that equipment, supplies & materials are available. Inspects work areas to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely manner. Evaluates employees' performance. Updates and compiles reports outlining the maintenance unit's activities including other factors such as amount of work produced, expenditures/collections, or inventory. Employee must have extensive practical knowledge of & experience in electricity, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, heating/air conditioning, mechanical, groundskeeping and simple horticulture practices, wastewater treatment, housekeeping, & the ability to supervise maintenance, renovation, & repair. Professional certifications in any of the above will be given considerable weight in the selection process. Basic knowledge of learn budgetary and bidding procedures mandated by the state purchasing division. Facilities at park include: 6 vacation cabins, swimming pool and bathhouses, restrooms, administrative building, residences, maintenance building, wastewater treatment plant, lift stations, picnic shelters, and campsites. You will be responsible for upkeep of tools and equipment in all work areas. Employee operates under the supervision of the assistant superintendent & the superintendent and must work to foster good employee, community, and park guest relations. Must always maintain safe work practices for self and other staff. Employee must be available to work weekends, holidays, evenings, & night shifts throughout all park facilities. Must be available for "on call" work. Must be able to lift & move heavy objects and work on ladders at rooftop heights. Required to complete necessary wastewater treatment operator certifications. Performs all other necessary duties as assigned or required

Training: Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent.
Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the facility maintenance, building trades work or related construction/maintenance. One year of the experience must have been in a lead worker or administrative support capacity.

Substitution: Completion of a course accredited by the Department of Education may be substituted for experience at the rate of 1,080 hours per year.
Completion of a related trade union-sponsored apprentice ship program may be substituted for equivalent amount of full-time experience.
