Job Posting Summary
The Student Activities Board (SAB) will be hiring two students to act as assistants for the Board. These student need to be detail oriented with the ability to work well with people in time sensitive conditions. These students must be enthusiastic about UAS and campus programming. Strong follow-through and dependability are key assets to being a successful SAB Assistant. Hours can be variable due to evening meeting and event schedules.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position.
Strong attention to detail, ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to complete tasks thoroughly and responsibly. Ability to work with a team to co-plan events and work toward group consensus. Specialized tasks with skills to be developed include the planning, promotion, evaluation, and reporting of campus wide events. Ability to successfully time manage and juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities with your academic and personal life.
Typical education or training required for this position (including licenses).
Must be a currently enrolled UAS student with at least 6 credits and a 2.0 cumulative gpa, in good academic standing.
Length of time and type of experience required for this position.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities for this position.
Preference will be given to students who have been actively involved in collegiate activities planning/implementation.

Special Conditions of Employment
NOTICE: Students must maintain enrollment and regular attendance for a minimum of at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 6 graduate credit hours to be exempt from FICA (Social Security and Medicare) tax. A credit hour load below the minimum required for full-time student status will require the withholding of FICA tax (non-resident aliens on an appropriate visa who meet student employment criteria will continue to be exempt from FICA regardless of credit hour load). While in a student position, a student cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university.

Communicate with SAB members via phone, email, & in-person for event/meeting reminders. Attend weekly SAB meetings, record & report on meeting minutes.
Prepare for events which may include: organizing SAB Event volunteer schedules; communication with agents, university personnel, or community members; booking event space; filling out purchasing paperwork; gathering & organizing supplies; etc.
Manage event evaluation data and reporting.
Prepare & distribute event flyers and other promotional materials.
Assist SAB Committee Chairs/Co-Chairs in completion of Event Planning Forms.
Manage the Student Activities Board Website, including event postings and regular information updates.
