Job Description

The Metal Casting Technology center within Hitchiner Manufacturing has an exciting opportunity for a Front End Process Owner . This position will be responsible for the corporate process technology front end (wax, shell and casting) across all sites.

Major responsibilities in this role include, but not limited to:
Developthe standard processes using common materials,equipment, and processes promoting Safety, Standardization,Simplification, Increasing speed, Reducing waste and driving green technologies. Collectand coordinate process technical data from all sites. Facilitatecommunications and Mentor process engineers at all sites. Documentall standard processes. Controlthe change of the standard process. Stay current with technology advancements in these areas. Supportinternal and external research focused on the plan to deliver the processtechnology required to support the 5 year business plan. Stay current with the regulatory changes potentially impacting these process areas. DevelopTechnical Control Plans and Audit site compliance in these process areas. Documentand Control Material Specifications and Key Vendor qualifications inconjunction with the purchasing and quality organizations. Investigatesand initiates unique or highly technical manufacturing problems or avariety of complex mechanical, chemical or electrical production problemsand recommends and provides all necessary technical assistance for theirsolution. Performs technical surveillance of a complex nature in the control of product, design concepts and specification requirements andprovides technical data, advice or reports on specific problems to themanufacturing organization and functional staff groups. Analyzes reports frommanufacturing and customers regarding unsatisfactory product and initiates prompt corrective measures Responsiblefor technical support and sustaining engineering in various process areas.Establishes operating equipment specifications, improves manufacturingtechniques, identifies and introduces new process equipment to production.Interfaces with design personnel to ensure that processes and designs arecompatible. Assignments are complex and require a moderate to high degreeof independent action and decision-making. Reviews and evaluates engineering changes and/or other specification requirementsand performs technical liaison function with production planning andengineering personnel. Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures. Preparesengineering schematics and parts lists for system components to facilitatemanufacturing planning. Uses lean or six sigma continuous improvement tools to improve the manufacturing processes Maylead and direct specific and focused project team efforts to design and/orimprove products or processes.
Assignments typically will include design and development, materials testing, preparation of specifications, process study, report preparation, and other activities requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in the specific area of assignments.

Must be capable of delivering on commitments in a timely and efficient manner


Mastersdegree in engineering with 5 or more yearsexperience or Bachelors degree in engineering with 7 years related experience. Familiarwith a variety of concepts within the field of investment casting. Must possess good communication and organizational skills. Computerliteracy is a must, including competency in general MS Office applications, technical computer statistical tools. Proficiency in Spanish desirable.
