Job Summary

Faculty members work under the direction of the Campus Director, Assistant Director, Lead Faculty, and the appropriate Director of Education/Curriculum Development. Teaches students the proper curriculum, prepares lesson plans and progress reports, works additional time with students, orders supplies, and performs related work as required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Classroom Instruction
  • Teaches course work as it applies to the appropriate curriculum
  • Utilizes contemporary teaching strategies and practices; such as instructional resources through guest speakers, field trips, videos, overhead transparencies, Instructor’s Resource Manual, lecture, and handouts to enhance the learning process
  • Accurately records student daily attendance
  • Holds conferences with students on an as-needed basis
  • Maintains classroom in good physical order and equipment in good repair
  • Enters classroom at designated time with all necessary materials. Begins and ends class at scheduled times
  • Actively participates to promote student retention

Outside of Class Time
  • Prepares weekly lesson plans according to standardized curriculum
  • Corrects students’ assignments and tests; reviews results and returns them promptly
  • Accurately records grades, attendance, successful completion of proficiencies; entering information in campus management software
  • Works additional time weekly, as announced, for individual student needs outside the classroom
  • Cooperates with lab schedules
  • Orders supplies and forms when needed and puts them away in proper location
  • Attend a minimum of one continuing education and/or professional growth workshop each year
  • Completes an Instructor Professional Development Plan (IPDP) each year
  • Attends a minimum of two in-service activities annually, including the annual Ross Medical in-service
  • Attends formal and informal faculty/staff meetings
  • Informs Campus Director, Assistant Director and/or Lead Faculty immediately of unsatisfactory academic student progress, discipline or attitude problems, and occurrences that warrant discussion
  • Schedules and conducts visits for approval of new student externship sites and completes student externship follow-up calls
  • Under direction of Campus Director, Assistant Director and/or Lead Faculty, provides additional support to students on probation or mid-progress warning
  • Attends quarterly faculty meetings to discuss classroom concerns, student issues, and curriculum development and assessment
  • Participates in school events regarding student retention and placement
  • Performs related work as required

Minimum Requirements

Instructors must meet one of the following qualifying criteria:

High school diploma or equivalent and post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in related field from an accredited institution

High school diploma or equivalent and evidence of on the job training (Pharmacy Technician in training) from an approved training site.

3 or more years recent work experience in the field which is being taught

5 or more years recent work experience in the field which is being taught

Current State registration and/or license, as applicable.

Current State registration and/or license, as applicable.

Certification or in the field (CPhT) through PTCB or ICPT.

Certification or in the field (CPhT) through PTCB or ICPT.

And All of these:
  • Knowledge of materials (subjects) that will be taught to students and ability to use and communicate Ross curriculum
  • Work experience in environments related to Ross student programs
  • Ability to communicate field related knowledge to others
  • Maintains current State registration and/or license, as applicable.
  • Maintain current credential (CPhT) through PTCB or ICPT.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in manner, dress and conduct as a representative of Ross and a student mentor
