DUTIES:
If hired for this position, you will:
Serve as technical and scientific expert in the area of ethical, legal and societal impacts of broad data sharing and use of large-scale genomic data.
Serve as the policy focal point within NCI for implementation of the NIH genomic data sharing policy.
Integrate and develop the bioethics portfolio into the activities and goals of related agency programmatic activities.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To qualify for this position you must have a bachelor's or graduate degree with major study in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position.

IN ADDITION, you must meet the following requirements:
For the GS-12 level: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Government. Examples of qualifying experience include: planning, coordinating and/or administering bioethics human subjects research projects; providing advice on the ethical use (sharing) of large-scale genomic data; assisting in developing procedures and policies related to ethical and appropriate use of large-scale genomic data; assisting in developing issues and presenting analyses related to bioethics policies; and preparing policy documents associated with a bioethics program.

For the GS-13 level: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Government. Examples of qualifying experience include: planning, coordinating and/or administering bioethics human subjects research projects; using a variety of design approaches to carry out health studies and to measure behavioral and health effects; analyzing existing and new data sources to identify gaps in bioethics research related to large-scale genomic research among the general population; providing advice on the ethical use (sharing) of large-scale genomic data; developing procedures and policies related to ethical and appropriate use of large-scale genomic data; developing issues and presenting analyses related to bioethics policies; and preparing policy documents associated with a bioethics program. This position has an education requirement. You must submit a copy of your transcripts (or a list of your courses including titles, credit hours completed and grades).
