Assistant Manager – Operations Manager (Management Training)

Job Description

Waterway has the Best Management Training Program in the Country! We offer a highly structured training program / career path that actually makes sense and moves you forward. Every rank of our Management Training Program is a checklist, which means you’ll always know how you’re doing as well as exactly what you need to do to get promoted! We work with you every step of the way while training you to Be the Boss.

Waterway managers are paid salary from day one and your first 90 days are spent as a Manager Trainee working very closely with the Operations Manager / General Manager at a location. You'll spend your first two months quickly mastering our four hourly positions while simultaneously learning the basics of shift management. Then you'll "practice" being a manager for a month before going "live" as an Assistant Manager, running shifts on your own.

New managers can expect to earn two promotions during their first year and be ready to run a Waterway location within two to four years. Your hard work, ambition and dedication determines how far up the ladder you can go. We always promote from within and the sky’s the limit. Our “ceiling” is quite high. The opportunity for advancement continues beyond the Operations Manager / General Manager rank!

What can you expect as a Waterway Manager?

· The Best Management Training Program in the Country
· Great pay – you’re a manager being paid salary starting from Day #1
· A clear cut career path that makes sense (every rank is a checklist)
· The average workweek is 45 to 50 hours
· An active, outdoor, fast-paced work environment
· Work alongside other great managers while supervising high quality hourly employees
· You’ll have the cleanest car of everyone you know
· No tie required - this is not a desk job

The perks of being a Waterway Manager

· $35,000 - $40,000 in base pay and bonuses the first year
· Potential to earn $45,000 - $70,000 as Operations Manager / General Manager

· Sizeable rank completion bonuses every time you’re promoted
· Quarterly store performance bonuses
· Medical and dental benefits (qualified after just 31 days)
· Tuition reimbursement (qualified after 1st promotion)
· Long-term investment matching (qualified after 2nd promotion)
· High quality co-workers, hourly employees and customers

Job Responsibilities

Our managers are not glorified car washers. We have top-notch teams of just 3 to 5 Waterway managers working together to run all facets of the location; keeping them clean and running efficiently. Waterway managers also hire, train and maintain their large crew of 40 to 70 hourly employees. Together, they impress 10,000 to 20,000 customers every month. The managers spend a good portion of their time getting to know those customers while taking care of their car washing and customer service needs. If there’s a problem, they fix it.

Additionally, Waterway managers do a lot of marketing in their local communities by keeping up relationships with local businesses, schools and various organizations and turning the people they meet into “regular” customers. We’re always trying to bring in new business while showcasing all of the other services and programs we offer.

Waterway Managers receive extensive training in the following:

· Leadership and Management
· Retail, Convenience Store and Gas Station Operations
· Sales and Marketing
· Human Resources
· Recruitment
· Employee Training
· Customer Service
· Mechanical Systems Operations
