Minimum Requirement - Primary Education :
Graduate of a college or university with a master’s degree in rehabilitation, rehabilitation teaching or therapy, guidance and/or counseling, psychology, sociology, orientation and mobility, social work, special education, education with emphasis in vocational counseling or a related field.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: A bachelor’s degree in one of the above areas plus two years of professional experience in vocational rehabilitation, vocational assessment, employer relations or rehabilitation technology will substitute for the required master’s degree.

Description of Job Duties
Determines eligibility and develops, with consumer, their Individual Plan for Employment, appropriate services, service providers, responsibilities, and terms. Coordinates services that will assist individuals in achieving their vocational goals. Provides vocational counseling assessments, collects and evaluates medical, psychological, vocational and other reports. Works extensively with employers, perform job development, job analysis, and follow-up services. Develops referrals, performs basic public relations functions and partnerships with assigned territory to service organizations, schools, and physicians. Develops and maintains case documentations, interprets agency procedures, enters data into the Case Management System, maintain caseload budget, travels to assigned counties and works twice a month in a Career One-Stop Center. Plans and coordinates appointments for appropriate assessments needed to assess individual needs for vocational rehabilitation services in order to prepare for, enter into, engage in, and/or retain gainful employment. Performs other duties as assigned.

Characteristics of the Class :
Determines eligibility for persons for vocational rehabilitation services and provides vocational rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities seeking gainful employment; and performs other duties as required.
Typical Working Conditions and Unique Physical Requirements :
Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Occasional travel will be required to coordinate services between customers and the agency.
