3 to 5 Years of Experience Required
Maintains the organization’s infrastructure, to include the connectivity, backbone, and data integrity. This is accomplished through the on-going monitoring and maintenance of the infrastructure and server environments. Works with user departments to determine connectivity needs, recommends viable alternatives and provides systems design recommendations. Assumes project leadership responsibility during the selection and implementation of hardware and software applications and/or updates. Demonstrates expertise in the applications that are supported.
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Technical related Associates degree or equivalent, preferred.
Has a minimum of four years of direct IT related experience designing, implementing, and maintaining a networked server and storage environment, preferably in a healthcare environment. Experience with the operation, administration, and maintenance of enterprise server level hardware, software and data storage in a 24x7, high availability (99.99% uptime) environment. Familiarity with network monitoring tools and services in a 24x7, high availability (99.99% uptime) environment. Familiarity with Novell GroupWise 8.x is highly desirable. Desktop experience with Windows 2000, XP, 2007 and Microsoft Office Suite are highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to manage multiple projects of different levels of complexity. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital related data. Ability to function with minimal supervision, demonstrating the ability to be self-directed and capable of independent follow-up. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effectively communicates with peers in order to accomplish a task and/or provide knowledge transfer. Effectively communicates with end users/customers in an effort to diagnose and resolve problems. Effectively communicates with management any concerns that may arise. Knowledge of one or more server operating systems, to include Novell Netware 6.x, SUSE Linux, Microsoft Server 2000, Server 2003, Server 2008 and SQL Server.
