The Employee Group Benefits Placement Specialist coordinates and manages all placement activities associated with the marketing and negotiation for less complex coverage lines and clients. The Placement Specialist also coordinates with more senior Placement team members, the placement activities associated with the marketing and negotiation for more complex coverage lines and clients. This mid-level position is both client and carrier facing and leverages established competencies related to line of coverage expertise, financial competency, negotiation capabilities and employee benefits expertise (specifically related to plan design) to best service Willis clients.
BA/BS degree in related field of study preferred. 5 or more years of successful experience in employee group benefits marketing and placement within an insurance brokerage. Licenses required within 60 days of employment and professional (CEBS, NAHU) designations preferred.
Requires advanced understanding of insurance products, bid preparation, RFP response analysis, RFP results presentation and negotiation techniques. Must have proven expertise in successful carrier negotiation and understanding of alternative funding arrangements. Requires the ability to successfully manage a number of marketings and negotiations concurrently as well as the ability to effectively articulate carrier specific strengths and weaknesses. Must demonstrate exceptional time management, organization, communication and project management skills. Ideal candidates will be those who take initiative, work well independently and as part of a team and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic professional environment. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
