The College of St. Scholastica seeks applications for a faculty position in the Department of Social Work at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This is a tenure track position with a starting date of Summer 2013.
Building on the academic excellence of our Bachelor of Social Work program, St. Scholastica’s Master of Social Work ( MSW ) prepares students for practice in a variety of settings. The program features a focus on advanced clinical practice and provides a felxible, affordable path to an MSW degree.
Curriculum emphasizes the skills of advanced clinical practice, including assessment and diagnosis, evidence-based intervention and treatment, group dynamics, and how social policy and social justice issues affect the practice of social work. This program is offered to those with or without a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. The successful candidate will contribute to and participate in fostering a culture of inclusion in support of college diversity goals.
MSW from a CSWE accredited university; at least three years of post-master’s work practice experience; and eligibility for social work licensure by the State of Minnesota. Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills and multicultural competency.
An earned doctorate in social work or a related discipline; graduate teaching experience within a CSWE accredited social work program; knowledge of curriculum design and program development at the graduate level; demonstrated potential for research and scholarly activity; and demonstrated qualifications to teach courses in human behavior, research, healthcare, and mental health. We are particularly interested in candidates who are knowledgeable about clinically-directed social work practice with diverse clients.
