This intermittent part-time position is designed to be a “Teacher Research Assistant” and will work with a research team that is comprised of faculty investigators, research assistants, and graduate and undergraduate student assistants. The person in this position must have prior elementary teaching experience and preferably is a licensed/certified teacher. The Teacher RA will participate in the management, coordination, and implementation of research activities as part of experiments to be conducted in after-school programs in the local schools. The Teacher RA is planned to teach 2 hours per day during after-school programs in local schools from September through May for a newly-funded research grant entitled “Developing a teacher-based intervention involving memory-relevant language during instruction.” The Teacher RA will participate in the design and implementation of the instructional unit.
Education and Experience
Minimum 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
Preferred licensure as a certified teacher.
Seeking an applicant who has been a teacher with at least 2 years experience in a K-5 classroom setting.
