Job Description Brocade Network Management group is looking for technically savvy architect to provide technical leadership to a team of development and QA engineers. This team is responsible for the creation of Brocade39s network management products such as the Brocade Network Advisor and Element Managers. Additionally, the team is responsible for development test of cloud orchestration components such as OpenStack plug-ins and RESTful APIs. The domains span Storage Area Network (SAN), Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols and technologies.

This individual will report directly to a Senior Director of Engineering in a highly visible role at senior engineering leadership level. Close interaction with selected customers to understand their problems and propose solutions will be required. QualificationsJob Responsibilities Required Qualifications - BSCSBSEE with 10 years minimum experience. MS preferred.

  • Strong J2EE technology, RDBMS, web-client, Java Swing client, and Object Oriented Design skills - Strong knowledge of API design such as Netconf, RESTful API, XML APIs, and SNMP - Strong Java programming skills - Storage Area Networks (SAN) and networking technologies at Layer 2 and Layer 3 - Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure in the networking domain. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with customers. - Able to handle ambiguity, be able to work with a very high level of guidance, and highly motivated and self-driven.
  • Able to analyze complex problems in a highly dynamic and changing environment. Able to work closely with senior management and cross-functional teams including other principal engineers. Desired Qualifications - Knowledge of Agile development methodologies - Experience working with test automation - on development unit test automation andor QA black-box test automation - Knowledge of open source projects in the cloud orchestration domain such as OpenStack, CloudStack, etc. Knowledge of Python programming.
  • Understanding of Layer 4-7 - Understanding of key cloud technologies, SDN, NFV, and OpenFlow, Responsibilities - Create blueprints for architecture and design including hands-on work to validate approaches, architecture design concepts, and provide example implementations. - Review software engineering artifacts such as functional specifications, design specifications, code, unit tests, system test plans, feature test plans and ensure architectural integrity and high quality - Investigate technologies related to NMS and clouds, make recommendations to the management team on the technical direction of products and architecture - Develop strong technical leaders in the team by mentoring coaching team members - Represent the team company in industry associations and conferences where appropriate Learn more about diversity at Brocade.
