CLARK Material Handling Company has an immediate opening for a qualified Group Leader to lead our assembly team in manufacturing of Golf Carts in our Lexington, KY facility.
To assist the Production Manager in the attainment of manufacturing and or warehouse goals; including, inventory accuracy, number of units, cost per unit and standards of quality; through the leadership and training of the manufacturing or warehouse workforce according to standards of good manufacturing and warehouse practices.
The group leader will program, test, calibrate, adjust, tune, and complete all quality checks on each truck coming off the assembly line. The group leader should be able to perform all tasks in the work area to be able to fill in when a team member is absent.
Will plan, perform, and coordinate all manufacturing and material functions within a particular area or areas of assignment. Must be able to troubleshoot problems on trucks during and after assembly and provide assistance to minimize delays, loss of production time, etc. This position will also provide training to assemblers and material handlers.
1. Complete the final inspections, quality checks, and adjustments on each unit being built on the assembly line. Ensure each unit matches the customer order.
2. Provide directions and support to factory and warehouse personnel in the attainment of production schedules; including, but not limited to:
a) Assignment of team members
b) Training team members and co-workers in proper work procedures
c) Communicate material and work schedules and other various information needed
d) Ensure equipment is properly maintained
e) Understand, support, and communicate quality goals.
f) Identify, document, and correct quality issues that negatively affect production efficiency, production schedule attainment, and customer satisfaction.
g) Identify and document any performance or attendance issues of team members. Production Manager will address any issues with assistance from Group Leader.
h) Establish and promote a safe and healthy work environment that is compliance with all regulations.
i) Responsible for meeting all Safety, EPA, and OSHA requirements & regulations.
j) Lead team members in conducting daily required OSHA safety check of forklifts and other equipment.
k) Troubleshoot assembly issues and identify problems on units built on assembly line. Problems include electrical, material-related, construction, or assembly.
l) Advise and/or plan work instruction to maintain flow of production.
m) Correct any inventory back flushing or transfer issues and address the root cause for the assembly line.
n) Monitor and order certain identified supplies.
o) Fills in when team members are absent as needed.
p) Assist Production Manager to complete evaluations on team members.
q) Responsible to complete special projects as assigned.
3. Support and help to enforce all company policies; including, safety housekeeping, environmental, financial, reporting and discipline.
4. Ensure the production of a quality product at minimal cost.
High school education or equivalent.
8 to 10 years experience assembling golf carts, forklifts, heavy equipment or similar mobile equipment.
1 to 3 years experience in Supervision in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to perform basic warehouse functions.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
Ability to resolve employee conflicts and foster good working relationships.
Working knowledge and use of computers, Microsoft office, and warehouse management programs.
Must be able and willing to travel to learn how to build other models.
