Duties and Responsibilities:
The Graphical User Interface Engineering Intern is responsible primarily for creating specialized structural
symbols for the new static analysis platform. Special interest on low-level "operators" and Low-Power
specialized cells. If time permits, creating performance and capacity stress tests for the schematic viewer
system. Additional assignments may arise as needed and time permits. Specific tasks in order:
- Create a symbol library for monet that contains symbols for all functional operators as well
as symbols for certain Low-Power specific cell types. This will be on the order of 75 symbols.
This task includes testing the symbols visually on the target system.
- Create a small number of testcases as needed and directed by the schematic tool developer.
Must have good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Requires the ability to do script-based
programming with the specialized "Symbol Editor" language of Design Compiler. Should be able
to learn (or know) emacs/vi editors and ability to run certain basic unix-oriented tools such
as design compiler and monet. Problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly are important.
