This position performs computer application development. This includes defining problems, collecting information, and development of solutions. This position provides systems support for other department divisions. Supervision from the Information Technology Supervisor.
Examples of Work:
Analyze system requirements for new and existing applications. Consult with peers, management and application users. Plan, code, debug, test and document computer programs. Maintain existing computer applications and coordinate modifications. Use application development tools and utilities. Provide backup technical support as needed. Design and manage databases. Develop new methods and/or procedures in an effort to improve department efficiency.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education, or training in coding computer applications.
PREFERRED: Degree in computer science, mathematics, or other related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Skills in: Systems analysis; computer programming; database design; good written and verbal communication skills are also a must.
Ability to: Formulate ideas into functioning computer applications, initiate and recognize areas which would benefit from a computer application; organize and present data in an understandable manner; code, debug, test and document computer programs, write clear, understandable program code, design and code complex algorithms, maintain and modify existing computer applications; work under pressure of deadlines; work effectively in a team environment, work with project participants and other stakeholders to gather system requirements, communicate computer concepts to those unfamiliar with computer terminology.
