This position is the face of PeaceHealth Laboratories to our patients at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, Oregon. To be a successful and valued member of this outstanding team, you must have excellent adult and pediatric phlebotomy experience, well-honed customer service skills, and keyboarding speed and accuracy. You must be able to work independently in a hospital setting.

The chosen candidate for this Lab Assistant position in Springfield will perform phlebotomy services and specimen collection/handling, possess and use knowledge of department procedures and computerized Lab Information Systems (LIS), and support patients with information and direction about utilizing laboratory services.

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Phlebotomy experience required. Prior clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- Able to approach, communicate and positively interact with patients and health care professionals while performing their duties, frequently under stressful conditions.
- Able to work without supervision, but know when to consult with supervisory personnel for assistance in determining appropriate actions.
- Able to use the electronic laboratory information system. Must perform work activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Able to recognize the various levels of service (routine to critical) demanded of the laboratory and to prioritize work and adjust working style to accommodate said demands.
