Essential Job Functions The RSM will be responsible for all TopWorx sales activities within the Southeast United States including development, strategy, and execution of the sales plan to meet Annual Operating Plan (AOP) sales numbers for the region. Responsibilities include target account identification and pursuit; distributor development and training; and technical sales demos/presentations, specification, and project support to end users, EPCs, and OEMs. Must be willing to travel throughout the territory (60%+ of the time) to lead business development, team-selling activities, and provide executive level closing when required on complex sales. Ability to analyze market dynamics, competitive threats, and value chain proposition to specify pricing and benefits of the product offering to meet customer expectations. Evaluate offering against competition and implement competitive differentiation. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to understand customer needs negotiate complex sales and total value offerings to customers. Ability to work in a matrixed organization and influence with limited supervision.
Education/Experience/Skills Requirements Degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, automation, etc.) or equivalent work experience required Minimum 10 years of industry product sales experience is essential. Expertise in process automation (DCS/PLC systems, Fieldbus/Modbus/Profibus protocols, valves, actuators, positioners, sensors, etc), digital and analog instrumentation, and industrial batch or continuous process operations is ideal. Excellent leadership, team work, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills required. * Ability to thrive in a high-technology continuous learning environment is critical. A history of demonstrated success in sales and territory management within the process automation industry.
