This position is responsible for specifying how Shared Health technology should be applied to solve business and market problems. The Business Technology Consultant, Applications is the conduit between the customer and the technology group with regard to software applications (developed in-house and third party), and is responsible for defining and articulating the requirements and specifications necessary to fulfill the customer's needs. This role will serve as an internal consultant for customer implementations. RESPONSIBILITIES Requirements and Specifications Definition: Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use scenarios, and workflow analysis. Develop requirement specifications according to standard templates, using natural language. Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders as appropriate to achieve consensus on requirements. Business Analysis: Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts. Decompose high-level information into details, and abstract details into general understanding. Serve as business expert on project team. Project Management: Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously Serve as project manager for internally facing projects. Provide oversight for application development.
BA or BS degree in Business or a related field or equivalent work experience required 7 Years of general IT programming or systems experience or a minimum of 5 years experience in health care IT programming or systems experience Experience with developing and delivering ASP-based solutions Strong analytical skills and ability to take abstract concepts and clearly articulate them using natural language PMP certification desired Must possess excellent interpersonal skills in order to effectively interact with multiple Shared Health departments and customer personnel at all levels Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to foster professional and customer relationships Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required - hands on project management experience is preferred Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities within specified timeframes Occasional travel required
