The GAIN Policy and Advocacy Intern will support GAIN's global and national policy and advocacy team in activities to influence improvement of policy and increase prioritization and resource commitment to nutrition in international development. The Policy and Advocacy Intern will work closely with internal staff to conduct research, develop materials, attend meetings, manage contracts, and provide general communications, logistics, and administrative support around policy and advocacy for global nutrition.
Purpose, Deliverables and Timeframe for delivery of results for the Internship:
To assist in the administrative support, research, and implementation of GAIN's policy and advocacy activities to influence improvement of policy and increase prioritization and resource commitment to nutrition in international development.
To gain experience, knowledge and skills in policy and advocacy, international development, and evidence-based interventions to scale up nutrition.
Conduct analysis, research and writing to support national and global policy and advocacy;
Develop materials to support national and global policy and advocacy;
Provide administrative and logistical support to the policy and advocacy team;
Support policy and advocacy capacity building activities for country managers including website development; and
Support delivery of events as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher
Experience in nutrition, health, agriculture, international development, or public policy
Proficient in use of MS Office
Experience in conducting literature reviews and interpreting research
