PMCC is seeking Senior Underwriters for Prudential Huntoon Paige (PHP), its FHA lending platform. PHP is a leading provider of FHA-insured commercial mortgages on multi-family and health care properties. This position will report to the FHA Chief Underwriter and can be located in any of the following PMCC office locations: Newark, NJ; New York, NY; Chicago, IL, McLean, VA, or Atlanta, GA
The incumbent will provide or direct thorough underwriting analyses of multifamily and healthcare applications in conformance with FHA program requirements and sound underwriting standards resulting in FHA commitments and closed loans. The incumbent will provide supervision, technical guidance and oversight to junior staff.
During the previous 3 years, the incumbent must have underwritten multifamily real estate loans for FHA insurance, banking institutions, FNMA, or housing authorities with FHA-like criteria.
Experience must include not less than 5 loans underwritten and closed within the past 7 years; 3 of the 5 must have been underwritten and closed within the last 3 years, and none may have experienced an early claim or default within 3 years of funding.
Experience in underwriting acquisition and refinance transactions, new construction, and substantial rehabilitation required.
Experience in underwriting and closing tax credit or other government subsidized loans is preferred.
Experience underwriting and closing FNMA, housing authority or other multifamily real estate loans will be considered as well.
Demonstrated success underwriting and closing HUD insured loans under all program types.
Excellent real estate knowledge and mortgage credit, property condition and market and value analysis skills
Ability to assess issues and implement solutions within HUD and PMCC program requirements.
Candidate should be creative, flexible, proactive and team-oriented with strong customer service, communication and negotiating skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities is essential
Strong teamwork and partnering skills with the ability to effectively manage the expectations of multiple internal and external constituents.
Solid management skills with the desire and ability to mentor, train and develop team staff
Ability to travel to attend industry meetings, conferences, project inspections and closings
Section 232 Healthcare MAP and LEAN approval or other healthcare financing experience a plus.
A minimum of a BS/BA degree is preferred in finance, real estate or a related discipline
