Raytheon's Electrical Design Directorate (EDD) provides engineering design, integration and production to core radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system competencies including process and control, integration and test, power systems, torpedo and sonar electronics, receivers and exciters, antennas and microwave subassemblies.

Opportunities currently exist within the EDD Test Engineering Department. This EDD department provides test engineering support and expertise to numerous programs in manufacturing and development within IDS.

Second shift Radar Subsystem Test Engineer II – Power System/Receiver Exciter

An opportunity exists for an engineer to join our team on second shift to support Power Systems Receiver Exciter (PSRE), which is responsible for radar subsystem testing of high mix low volume modules and cabinets. Candidate should have some RF background as well as analog and digital knowledge. The individual will be part of the team responsible for the efficiency, effectiveness, capability and capacity of the production test process. This position requires close cooperation with the Operations team and other engineering disciplines, including: Product Design, Test Development and Process & Quality Engineering. Responsibilities include but not limited to supporting test and troubleshooting of RF, IF, digital and analog assemblies, reviewing/analyzing data to determine the root cause of a fault, generating/updating test procedures, and interaction with design engineering on technical issues relating to the radar test process. Additional responsibilities include giving technical direction to bargaining unit personnel as required. The candidate will possess good communication skills and be able to work in a dynamic team environment.

Technical responsibilities include test verification requirements; test plan preparation, test procedure development, test conduct and test report development. Process responsibilities include participating in engineering requirement reviews, technical document peer reviews, conducting peer reviews and participating in Defect Prevention Team meetings.

Position includes the following tasks:
· Interpreting test requirements and documenting procedures
· Initiating and/or coordinating Engineering Change Requests and Change Notices to improve factory flow and product quality
· Collecting, analyzing and presenting test failure data – driving to root cause and corrective action
· Ensuring hardware requirements are met and processes are followed
· Assisting manufacturing operators in the test & troubleshoot of production hardware
Basic Qualifications:
· Required Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology
· 2 years of test engineering experience
· Have an understanding of test equipment accuracy requirements and reports
· Specifying test equipment for specific task
· Analysis of Parametric Test Data and associated Root Cause and Corrective Actions
· Have RF, IF, digital, and analog skills
Must have an active Secret or Interim secret clearance . .
Desired Qualifications:
· Familiarity with Phase Noise measurement systems
· Test software development skills (LabView, BASIC)
· Demonstrated success to work in a fast pace environment
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Secret clearance
· Detailed oriented – able to review data to determine station, software, or product issues
· Willing to work second shift (typically 3pm – 11pm)
· Must be self-motivated and possess good communication skills
