Responsibilities

This role ensures the delivery of direct care to patients throughout the St. Vincent Hospitals and Health Services system. The Registered Nurse role assesses and monitors patient's health, designs and implements the nursing care plans, operates medical equipment, and works in collaboration with the other members of the medical and support staff. This position is also responsible for providing appropriate medical information and education to patients and families, and for supervision and instructing Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Medical Technicians, and students. This position performs its duties and responsibilities in accordance with the St. Vincent mission and core values. Valid Indiana RN license required. Critical care, transplant and VAD experience preferred. On call duties required and must be able to respond within 30 minutes.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Minimum Education Requirement: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Miniumum Licensure Requirement: Current license as an RN, Indiana RN license prior to start.

BLS Healthcare Provider

CCTC Certification required within 18 months of hire.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Experience: 2 years recent acute care experience.

Minimum Preferred Experience: 5 years recent accute care experience.

2 years critical care experience.
