DESCRIPTION

DUTIES

The right candidate will have the soft skills needed for this highly interactive role. Applicant must pay high attention to detail with consistent follow through and be able to productively manage high volumes of work. Multi-tasking, efficiency, accuracy, attention to detail, and knowledge of the industry is required.

This position is responsible for the overall performance of assigned clients, handling incoming calls from clients, training and educating clients on relevant day-to-day processes, healthcare and industry standards, investigating and resolving technical and process issues as well as acting as a knowledge resource for coworkers.

Applicant will be required to work directly with multiple physician offices.

  • Identifies and handles reimbursement and minor coding issues
  • Investigates and resolves issues escalated from team members
  • Works directly with clients to help resolve open issues and address concerns
  • Works with Indian and US reimbursement/collections staff to understand and maintain client expectations
  • Manages and maintains data files for multiple clients
  • Communicates as necessary with physicians to obtain or clarify diagnoses and/or procedures
  • Assists with training of new liaisons, when needed
  • Completes ad-hoc department report(s) as requested
  • Applies internal protocols regarding departmental communications
  • Learns each assigned client's policies, procedures and practices and applies appropriately to day-to-day client activities
  • Trains clients on computer systems and software used in functional area as needed
  • Educates clients on new or existing process(s) according to medical documentation and billing guidelines (including but not limited to collections, credits, refunds, statements)
  • Informs clients of new or changing processes, policies or compliance guidelines set by local, state and federal regulatory requirements in conjunction with coders recommendation
  • Sets up new clients as assigned according to new client task list
  • Completes Month End Process for each assigned client
  • Reviews month end reports for each assigned client
  • Performs monthly AR analysis for each assigned client
  • Prepares for and conducts monthly status meetings with each assigned client
  • Participates in bi-weekly meetings with India Reimbursement Liaison and appropriate India Reimbursement team to discuss client specific issues
  • Maintains current SalesForce Liaison page for each assigned client (training on Salesforce provided)
  • Reviews client support tickets to ensure timely follow-up and completion by Help Desk
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree in Healthcare or related field preferred but not required; may substitute degree for years of related experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of medical billing experience in a physician office or third party billing company including but not limited to understanding remittances, denials, ICD-9 & CPT-4 codes; write-offs, payer contracts & EOB's, EDI and ERA posting, and familiarity with commercial insurances, private carriers, HMO's, Medicaid and Medicare is required.
  • Minimum of (2) years working in an EMR/EHR system; experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus but not required.
  • Proven ability to manage a multitude of responsibilities while meeting objectives and working with teams
  • Basic office skills
