The position of Civil/Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for design, design review, construction oversight and project management; concrete and earthen dam and embankment design, construction, inspection and maintenance; and concrete and earthen dam surveillance, monitoring and evaluation.
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an A B E T accredited college or university. Applicants are required to have strong oral and written communications, advanced computer skills and be highly motivated self starters with excellent leadership, problem solving, organizational skills, project and program management experience, and relevant technical and analytical skills. Strong collaborative abilities and the capability and willingness to accept future roles of increased responsibility are also required.
The successful candidate will occasionally work in environments that can be hot, cold, noisy, and dirty. The successful candidate must be in good physical condition, able to climb stairs and ladders, and able to ascend/descend steep grades. The successful candidate must be willing and able to respond to emergency callouts and to work weekends and holidays when needed. Applicants must have the ability to develop a thorough knowledge of dam safety and compliance regulations. Strong interpersonal skills and customer focus are essential. Candidate will interact with individuals from outside agencies and various departments elsewhere in the company.

Jr. Engineer – < 1 year
Asst. Engineer – 1 year engineering experience
Assoc. Engineer – 4 years engineering experience
Engineer – 7 years engineering
Type of Work
Jr. Engineer – Entry level work to develop good technical and professional work habits; Processes programmatic documents using procedures, drawings, vendor technical manuals, etc.
Asst. Engineer – Assists in design and engineering support. Minor coordination and leadership responsibilities; Performs engineering calculations, design and design interpretations, prepares specifications and reports as required.
Assoc. Engineer – Designs projects or parts of projects. Schedules and coordinates field projects. Performs tests and inspections of material, equipment and/or processes. Directs and supervises others as required.
Engineer – Plans, directs, and supervises design of major projects or parts of major projects, preparation of specifications, contracts, and work order requests; provides project supervision and review.
