Marketing Communication Specialist

DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Marketing, the Marketing Communication Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing communication programs that advance Parata's industry leadership and promote the brand and products. The specialist will help shape the strategy in collaboration with the marketing team, and then implement programs against metrics for timing and impact.

DUTIES

  • Primarily responsible for stewarding the Parata brand, expanding leadership and visibility in target markets.
  • Ensure marketing strategies are supported by impactful, targeted marketing communication strategies and tactics with measurable outcomes.
  • Direct regional and trade media relations, with goals defined by editorial calendars, marketing goals and editor relationships. Objective is strong, sustained and differentiated presence that advances brand leadership.
  • Develop editorial/journalistic/media contacts and develop relationships with key media in target, horizontal segments (e.g., long-term care, customer service, engineering, etc.)
  • Manage Parata website, ensuring content remains fresh, relevant and compelling, and that the experience is both high-quality and cutting-edge. Coordinate SEO to maximize web traffic.
  • Write marketing collateral and create sales support tools.
  • Help create marketing tools that support customers in promoting their Parata-enabled services.
  • Develop presentations for a variety of audiences and needs.
  • Assist in coordinating annual market trend and brand awareness research; apply findings to marketing communication strategy.
  • Provide creative oversight and direct internal and external design resources in support of marcomm projects. Ensure design meets Parata's quality standards, supports project goals and conforms to budget requirements.
  • Storyboard videos in support of marketing programs, such as customer testimonials and product demos.
  • Provide creative guidance for Parata's trade show presence at key industry events, and direct design, as well as on-site support and direction at trade shows, industry- or company-driven events.
  • Play a key role on the team for Parata University, annual training for sales and field service teams, including creative development of theme and graphic elements, event opening, awards event scripting and winner profiles and training content for selected marketing modules.
QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience leading strategic marketing communication planning, including research, development, implementation and measurement/reporting.
  • Bachelors degree in journalism or communication, English or a PR-related discipline
  • Formal writing training and competence with AP style
  • At least five years experience in PR, preferably in an agency setting
  • Experience directing graphic design
  • Expertise in new media, including website presence and optimization, social media and a commitment to leverage emerging communication outlets/technologies/tools
  • Solid media relations skills - strategic story development, credible resource to reporters
  • Firm grasp of marketing communication fundamentals: creating, building, implementing and reporting strategic marketing communication programs to build brand and market awareness/leadership.
  • Experience defining, directing and analyzing market research.
