Position Summary:
Broadwind Energy is seeking a Director of Operations to direct and manage all plant operations for our Gearing division. The position will be located in Cicero, IL and have oversight over two facilities in Cicero, IL and one in Pittsburgh, PA. The Director of Operations will have responsibility for production, maintenance, quality, customer commitments and other manufacturing related activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide leadership to accomplish company goals and objectives.

Direct and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving.

Plan and coordinate plant activities with departmental managers to insure the delivery of quality products to customers.

Utilize lean principles to drive out waste and achieve world class operations in terms of technology, people, costs and deliveries.

Establish and monitor overall plant performance.

Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.

Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.

Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs.

Provide direction, development and leadership to production supervisors and managers.

All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in related field

Minimum 10 years experience in operations as Plant / Operations Manager.

Experience in gearing / machine shop environment required

Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.

Hands on experience in manufacturing methods, process improvement and ISO 9001.

Solid experience in implementing lean principles.

Excellent people and communication skills.

Able to lead and work with people in a Union environment.
